A kids version of ‘The Voice’ is coming

A kids version of “The Voice” is in the works at NBC.

“We are hoping [to begin production] by the end of the year,” a source close to the show tells The Post.

Casting calls were announced last week in New York, LA and Dallas for 8-to-14-year-old singers.

But the network put the project on hold just days later.

The plan, insiders say, is to film the series at the same time — and on the same stage — as the adult contest.

“There wasn’t enough time to get it together [before the upcoming fifth cycle],” the insider says.

“The Voice Kids” has already been tried and proved a hit in Germany, Holland and Finland. The show was initially a Dutch production, which NBC bought.

A bilingual version of the show will debut on NBC-owned Spanish network Telemundo in May.

American Juniors,” a kids version of “American Idol,” premiered in 2003, but was canceled after one season due to low ratings.

Lucy Hale of the ABC Family series “Pretty Little Liars” was among the top-10 finalists.
