Giants sign three players to futures contracts

The New York Giants signed tight end Jamie Childers, cornerback Buddy Jackson and kicker-punter Jake Rogers to reserve-future contracts on Friday.

Childers was signed as a free agent by St. Louis in May. The former quarterback and tight end at Coastal Carolina played in one preseason game before being waived.

Jackson was signed as a free agent by Indianapolis in May and was waived Aug. 15. He was on Washington’s practice squad from Nov. 12 until the end of the season.

Rogers handled punting and placekicking at the University of Cincinnati. He made all three of his field goal attempts for Tampa Bay in the 2011 preseason and punted six times for a 41.7-yard gross average and a 24.5-yard net.
