Jets’ Goodson hit with paternity suit, compounding legal issues: report

The off-field woes of new Jets running back Mike Goodson just keep piling up.

His Jets career already in jeopardy due to his arrest in New Jersey last month on weapons and drug charges, Goodson reportedly was hit this week with a paternity suit by a Houston woman demanding support for four children he allegedly fathered between 2005 and 2011.

According to ESPN, Ashlee Wilson sued Goodson in Harris County, Texas, on Thursday seeking retroactive child support, lump-sum child support and health insurance.

It was the second time Wilson has sued Goodson since 2010, and she claims the troubled veteran still owes her $7,000 in legal fees from the first action.

Two other women also reportedly filed paternity suits against Goodson in 2010 and 2011, and he also was forced to pay a Houston jewelry store nearly $85,000 after he tried to stiff them for a $37,500 Breitling watch.

Those issues, though, pale in comparison to the weapon and drug charges pending against Goodson, who was the first big free-agent signing this year by new Jets general manager John Idzik.

Goodson has returned to practice with the Jets while he awaits a June 12 pre-trial hearing in that case.
