LIU star Boyd granted another year of eligibility

The Blackbirds dynasty isn’t dead yet.

LIU Brooklyn’s bid for a fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance next season received a big boost upon learning that Julian Boyd will be granted a medical redshirt and will be eligible to play next season.

It will be his sixth season with the team, having missed the 2009-10 season due to a heart condition.

Boyd, the 2011-12 NEC Player of the Year, tore his ACL this past season and appeared in only eight games, averaging 18.5 points and 6.1 rebounds. His presence will be needed more than ever with the graduations of Jamal Olasewere and C.J. Garner.

Boyd told The Post recently that his rehab has been going well and he expects to be ready for the start of the season.
