‘Breaking Dawn Part 2’ made $1.17 million in its first day of advance ticket sales

If Lionsgate execs were worried that Kristen Stewart’s recent cheating scandal would hurt interest in the final installment in the “Twilight” saga, early ticket sales suggest they don’t need to be concerned.

“Breaking Dawn Part 2” generated $1.17 million in advance ticket sales on Monday, the first day fans were able to access admission to the highly anticipated film, according to E! News.

First-day advance ticket sales for “Breaking Dawn Part 1” only brought in $626,000.

Roughly a quarter of the sales went toward tickets for “The Twilight Saga Marathon,” which screens all of the films before the release of “Breaking Dawn Part 2” on November 16.
