Giants open preseason at Jacksonville, then 3 at MetLife

The Super Bowl champion Giants will experience a cozy preseason this summer with three of their four games played at MetLife Stadium.

Factor in the Sept. 5 regular-season opener against the Cowboys at the Meadowlands and the Giants won’t pack their bags for a full month.

The only road trip for the Giants comes in the preseason opener, when they travel to Jacksonville to face the Jaguars (date to be determined).

The annual Giants-Jets preseason game, always the third game, has been moved up one week and will be the second preseason game (date to be determined). The Jets this year are the designated home team.

Next, the Giants face the Bears on Friday, Aug. 24 at MetLife Stadium in a CBS nationally televised game. The Giants close out their preseason Aug. 29 at home against the Patriots in a rematch of Super Bowl XLVI that will feature Eli Manning and Tom Brady waving to each other from across the field as backups spend the bulk of the time finishing up the exhibition portion of the summer. This will be the eighth consecutive year the Giants and Patriots have closed out the preseason against each other.

The Giants will not play any of their preseason opponents in the regular season.
