BAM’s hot-tub time machine

Mark your calendars, my dear theater geeks: This coming Monday, I’m hosting what promises to be a hoot of a panel at BAM, from 7 to 8:30pm. The idea originated when I wrote this article about some cultish BAM productions, and I’m glad it’s finally coming to fruition. I for one am looking forward to have Frank Dunlop, Carole Shelley, Graciela Daniele and Austin Pendleton share their memories of the short-lived BAM Theater Company. Actually, Daniele wasn’t a company member but she worked on Dunlop’s staging of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” — this was a time when BAM did an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical for Christmas.

What’s frustrating to theater fans is that shows get buried in the sands of time. We’ll never be able to experience again the BTC production of “The Three Sisters” — Rosemary Harris, Tovah Feldshuh and Ellen Burstyn were the siblings, and that’s just for starters — but we can hear Dunlop’s memories of it.
