A thief was caught on camera breaking into a Hunts Point building and stealing a pile of new door locks, cops said.

The suspect entered 2007 Gleason Ave. on May 9 at about 8:50 a.m., snatched the locks and fled, police said.

The suspect was carrying a backpack and was last seen wearing a black long-sleeve shirt and brown pants.

Police are investigating the death of a man found beaten in a Soundview housing project.

Ronald Thompson’s body was discovered inside his seventh-floor apartment in the Monroe Houses Monday at about 9 p.m., police said.

The 42-year-old victim was faceup in his bed, with apparent trauma, sources added.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe he was beaten to death, but police are awaiting an official determination from the Medical Examiner’s Office.


Manhattan

Two people were arrested after a fracas on a commuter bus outside Port Authority.

It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the melee Saturday on a Jersey-bound bus at the corner of Ninth Avenue and West 42nd Street at about 3 a.m.

Three people — a 21-year-old woman, a 44-year-old man and a 45-year-old man — were left with scratches, bruises, black eyes and cut lips after Daryl DiMiceli, 45, of Clifton, NJ, and Freddy Niera, 23, of North Bergen allegedly attacked the victims, sources said.

Both men were arrested at the scene and charged with assault.


A perv rubbed himself against a 63-year-old woman who was working late in a West Side loft that’s rented out for events, police said.

The employee was inside Studio 450 on West 31st Street, between Ninth and Tenth avenues, on May 29 at about 11:45 p.m. when a stranger approached and brushed against her.

After the victim told him to stop, the creep exposed himself and pulled the woman close to him, cops said.

The suspect is believed to be in his early 30s, about 5-foot-7 and 150 pounds with a blond crew cut.


A thief stole nearly $10,000 worth of electronics and booze from a hotel along the High Line.

The suspect pulled a television set off a wall of a common area, snatched a case of champagne and a case of Grey Goose vodka from the High Line Hotel on May 27 at about 12:15 a.m.

Several other television sets were missing from a storage area and investigators believe the same suspect may be responsible.

In all, the thief made off with $1,374 worth of booze and $8,400 worth of electronics.


A young man thwarted a mugger who was trying to steal a senior citizen’s bag in Central Park, cops said.

The mugger was sitting a few yards away from the 66-year-old victim in The Sheep Meadow on May 27 at about 12:30 p.m. and snatched his Swiss Army bag while the man was not paying attention, police said.

The older man tried to hold on to the straps and struggled with the thief briefly — but lost his grip, cops said.

“Help me! Don’t let him go!” said the victim, at which point a young man appeared and grabbed the bag back from the suspect, police said.

The crook, believed to be in his 30s, was last seen wearing a dark gray T-shirt and gray pants while running toward the West 67th Street exit, cops said.


Brooklyn

A 24-year-old man was fighting for his life after being shot several times following an argument at an East Flatbush deli, police said.

The victim was arguing with an unidentified gunman in the bodega near the corner of Church and Nostrand avenues Monday at about 4:20 a.m. when the assailant pulled out a pistol and fired several times, according to police.

EMS rushed the victim to Kings County Hospital, where he was in critical condition, cops said.

It was not clear why the two men were arguing.


Staten Island

A man and two teens from Yonkers were arrested after trying to sell illegal fireworks to cops in Mariners Harbor, authorities said.

Larson Southwell, 54, and Ryan Southwell, 16, and his pal Kaelan Torres, 16, pulled up in a Nissan and stopped on Goethals Road North, near South Avenue, on May 30 at about 7:30 p.m. when they opened their trunk and offered to sell undercover police fireworks, a Criminal Court complaint charges.

The trunk was loaded with pyrotechnics, including Roman candles, skyrockets, birthday cakes, fluorescent orange, silver crackling palm, mortars, gold comet barrage, wolf pack and whistling moon travelers, records state.

All three suspects were charged with unlawfully dealing with fireworks, according to a spokesman for Staten Island District Attorney Daniel Donovan.
