Most donors contributed $10K or more to Cuomo’s re-election fund

ALBANY — Eighty percent of Gov. Cuomo’s $33.3 million in re-election campaign funds comes from donors who have each given a total of $10,000 or more, a government watchdog’s analysis says.

The New York Public Interest Research Group said Thursday that 242 donors have given the incumbent Democrat $40,000 or more and that his largest single donor is Leonard Litwin, who has contributed $800,000 in this election cycle.

Litwin is a Manhattan real-estate developer. A call to Litwin wasn’t returned Thursday.

NYPIRG says its analysis reflects contributions to the campaign fund since Dec. 1, 2010, after Cuomo was first elected governor.

The governor’s office did not initially reply to a request for comment.
