Ford to appear on ‘The Colbert Report’

Apparently trying to show he’ll try to woo any critic, Harold Ford Jr. is set to sit down with one of his harshest – Comedy Central’s Stephen Colbert.

Ford, who has kept his one-on-one interviews to a minimum after his maiden voyage with a New York paper was rocky, will appear on Colbert’s show on Monday.

Colbert ripped Ford on his show as”politically expedient” and the”Alpha Dog of the Week” recently, highlighting his evolving stands on key Democratic issues like gay marriage, ones where Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand’s boosters have been quick to point out that he’s historically been to the right of many primary voters in New York. Ford recently said he now supports gay marriage.

“Bravo Harold Ford for knowing who you are and who you might be in 15 minutes,” Colbert said.

It should be interesting viewing. And for a follow-up, Colbert is set to have Eliot Spitzer on his show Tuesday night – days after the scandal-tinged former governor gave a surreal interview to bigthink.com in which he talked about the meaning of love, his marriage and the fact that he didn’t actually where black socks while engaged in the act.
