Jonathon Niese, the Mets top pitching prospect, has been named the Opening Day starter for the Amazin’s Triple-A affiliate, the Buffalo Bisons. The 22-year-old left-hander who wowed Mets fans with eight shutout innings against the Braves during the stretch drive last September, went 11-8 with a 3.13 ERA in 29 starts between Double-A Binghamton and then Triple-A New Orleans.
