PACQUIAO, ROACH HEADED FOR THE APPLE

LAS VEGAS–Manny Pacquiao and Freddie Roach

“I was always knocking everybody out in the first, second or third round,” said Jacobs (16-0, 15 KOs). “But I went the distance, eight hard rounds. He gave some great competition. I think this was great for me at this stage of my career because I don’t want to get to the top and not have any experience going the distance.

“I think I have the skills to be a world champion,” Jacobs added. “I just don’t have the experience a young prospect like me needs to go to the top. You can be a great fighter but without experience you can fail when you get to that level.”

RICKY HATTON DOING FINE

Ricky Hatton seems to be doing fine after this second-round knockout loss to Manny Pacquiao Saturday night the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Hatton apologized to his fans for his latest defeat. Though his trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. suggested Hatton retire, no decision will be made until Hatton return from a vacation.
