U.S. National Team striker Jozy Altidore scored his first league goal in Villarreal’s 4-1 rout over Bilbao. He was an injury sub in the 90th for Joseba Llorente, and within seconds of getting on the pitch the New Jersey-born teenager made a perfectly-timed run _ why can’t Eddie Johnson learn that, FFS? _ and calmly slotted a ball home.
As irony would have it, fellow New Jersey native Guiseppe Rossi scored earlier in the laugher. I knew you guys would want to know that. Anyway, here is a video of altidore’s entire stint. He comes on at about the two-minute mark of the clip.
