Stinson allowed two hits over the four innings, striking out three and walking two. Fellow Mets prospect Roy Merritt later came on and pitched one-third of an inning, giving up a solo home run to Yonder Alonso, a Top 10 pick in the 2008 First-Year Player Draft. He also hit a batter.

Mets 2B prospect Greg Veloz went 0-for-2 with a run scored, and also stole a base against Yankee catching prospect Austin Romine. Yankee prospect Damon Sublett went 1-for-3, while Romine went 0-for-3.
