The Mets will try to take three out of four from the rival Phillies and close the gap in the NL East to just 2½ games tonight when Pedro Martinez (pictured) takes on Philadelphia’s Adam Eaton. Martinez, who has been hit hard in each of his past three starts, is 0-1 with a 10.13 ERA in two career starts in Citizens Bank Park. Eaton, meanwhile, is 5-0 lifetime in nine career starts against the Mets.
Jerry Manuel, meanwhile, is giving Fernando Tatis the start in left field after Tatis’ two-run homer in the 12th inning on Sunday handed the Mets a 4-2 win in that rain-delayed marathon.
