’Fair play: Sebastian on Knicks’ radar

Brooklyn’s Sebastian Telfair caused a stir on Twitter Friday when the free-agent point guard seemed to indicate he was going to play for his hometown team.

Friday Telfair tweeted, “I’m headed home!!!!’’

While a source said the tweet wasn’t about basketball, it did seem curious. Agent Andy Miller told The Post he had spoken to the Knicks and said of Telfair, “He certainly would consider the Knicks strongly.’’

The Knicks are still trying to sign another point guard for the veteran’s minimum contract to go along with Raymond Felton and Pablo Prigioni, and have spoken to Telfair on the phone after free agency began on Monday, which is not often the case for free-agent targets.

The cousin of Stephon Marbury could thrive at the Garden as he enters his ninth season, having played 59 games last season for the Suns and Raptors.

* The Knicks also have contacted representatives for Earl Watson, Will Bynum and Aaron Brooks. C
hris Smith, J.R.’s brother, is expected to be another point guard the Knicks will sign, but he may not be ready to contribute this season coming off knee patella surgery. Smith is on their Las Vegas Summer League Team, which begins play on Friday.

The Knicks also want to add a small forward and another big man now that Chris Copeland is out of the picture.

Small forwards Francisco Garcia of the Bronx, Dahntay Jones and Carlos Delfino are targets. Matt Barnes is off the board, having signed with the Clippers.

The Knicks also will sign another big man. Elton Brand is atop their list, but the Mavericks may re-sign him. The Knicks still have interest in re-signing Kenyon Martin for the veteran’s minimum.

* Marcus Camby already has asked for either a buyout or trade from the Raptors so he can join a contending club, The Post reported on its website Friday. He could soon be on the free-agent market and the Heat may have interest.

Camby has two years and roughly $7.6 million left on his Knicks contract. But of his final-season wage of $4.2 million, only $1.2 million is guaranteed. Camby has no plans to retire, according to his agent, Rick Kaplan.

“We have a great deal of respect for and faith in the new management of the Raptors,’’ Kaplan said. “So something is likely to work out for all involved.’’ … Big-man guru Hakeem Olajuwon told FoxSports Florida Amar’e Stoudemire is not the only Knick he will work with in Houston. Carmelo Anthony is also planning to make a trip.
