SJP rockin’ a familiar look in new HBO ‘Divorce’ series

She might have the same blow-out that she flounced about in over a decade ago on “Sex and the City,” but you’ll be seeing a different Sarah Jessica Parker in her new HBO series, “Divorce.”

In the series, which will premiere next year, Parker, now 51, plays Frances, a woman who has been married a long time to Robert (Thomas Haden Church) and decides that enough is enough.

But Frances discovers that independence is not what it’s cracked up to be. Still, like Carrie Bradshaw from “Sex and the City” (which also aired on HBO), Frances has her friends to lean on — even if they’re no longer sipping apple martinis in the Meatpacking District in the trendy wee hours.

“Divorce” was created by Ireland’s Sharon Horgan, co-star of the supremely witty Amazon series “Catastrophe.” Former “Saturday Night Live” trouper Molly Shannon and Talia Balsam (“Mad Men”) co-star as Frances’ friends.
