Ex-Giant arrested again after nightclub fight

Former New York Giants lineman Luke Petitgout stormed into a Midtown nightclub and slugged a Queens man who was chatting up the athlete’s wife, then slapped her across the face in a jealous rage, sources told The Post.

The 6-foot-6, 310-pound ex-tackle burst into 48 Lounge on Thursday spewing obscenities and looking for his wife, Jennifer, just before midnight.

Jennifer Petitgout — who called cops on her hubby last August after he allegedly assaulted her during a wedding-anniversary celebration — was at the swank club at Sixth Avenue and 48th Street with two girlfriends for a business meeting about an athletic-clothing line, said a source close to her.

Once the enraged Luke Petigout, who was in the city for an unrelated appointment, spotted her in the lounge, he charged their table and slugged John Constantinides, 43, in the right eye, then smacked Jennifer in the face, sources said.

“He slapped Jennifer open-handed, then continued fighting with the guys. He told them he wanted to take it outside,” the source said.

Petitgout, who last played for the Giants in 2006, was about to turn his attention to a second man when as many as six bouncers jumped in to restrain him while the owners called cops.

“Jen, you’re coming with me!” he growled as he was hauled off in cuffs, according to sources.

Sources said the lineman had been furious after his 37-year-old wife refused to attend a Manhattan event with him, a source said.

“Jennifer did not know how Luke knew what restaurant they were at,” the source said.

The two men had been invited to the lounge by one of Jennifer’s single pals, the source added.

Petitgout, who lives in Woodcliff Lake, NJ, with Jennifer and their three kids, was to be arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court on misdemeanor assault charges for allegedly slugging Constantinides.

Asked for comment by phone, Constantinides said only, “I’d rather not, but thanks anyway.”

The Queens man also suffered scratches to his arm, authorities said.

During their domestic clash last August, Petitgout allegedly smacked Jennifer in the head with her own purse and pushed her out of their car while they had been out celebrating their 13th anniversary the Meatpacking District.

She was treated at New York Downtown Hospital for bruising, swelling and cuts in that alleged assault and told cops she feared for her life, sources had said.

Petitgout was charged with misdemeanor assault, but his wife refused to cooperate with the investigation, authorities said. The charges were dropped.

Jennifer Petitgout had not pressed charges against her hubby for the recent slap as of Friday night but was “weighing her options,” sources said.

But a source added that this was the “last straw.”

She plans to divorce him and on Friday got a temporary restraining order, Nicole Noonan – who described herself as Jennifer Petitgout’s divorce consultant – confirmed.

A 48 Lounge manager declined to comment on the incident.
