GOP mayoral candidate John Catsimatidis has an estimated wealth of $3 billion, but like a majority of New Yorkers, he has a landlord.
Despite listing more than $30 million in real-estate holdings on public-disclosure forms, Catsimatidis and wife Margo rent the three-bedroom, 14th-floor apartment at Fifth Avenue and 63rd Street that they moved into more than 20 years ago. He declined to reveal how much he pays.Asked how much the couple pays in rent, “Cats” spokesman Rob Ryan said that the owners “were Italians and didn’t want the figure released.”Should they ever decide to sell, “he gets dibs on buying the building,” Ryan said.
Their children were born and raised there.
