Bynes is kept in loony bin

Wigged-out actress Amanda Bynes has been denied permission to leave the psychiatric facility in which she has been held in for more than a week, according to a report.

A California judge yesterday shot down her lawyer’s argument — in a hearing right at the psych ward — that the hospital had no legal basis to hold Bynes, according to TMZ.

The former Nickelodeon child star was placed on involuntary psychiatric hold last week after she allegedly set fire to an unsuspecting woman’s driveway in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

After being spotted near the small blaze with a gas can, Bynes, 27, was placed on a three-day hold.

That has been extended to two weeks by doctors so they can properly evaluate her, according to reports.

She appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court last month with a long blue wig after she allegedly tossed a bong out the window of her 36th-floor Hell’s Kitchen apartment.

Bynes was charged with reckless endangerment and attempted tampering with physical evidence in the May incident.
