Brian Urlacher part of desperate Cowboys’ linebacker search

The Cowboys are looking everywhere for linebacker Sean Lee’s replacement – even the retirement home.

According to an ESPN report, the Cowboys are looking into former Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher as a possible replacement for Lee, who tore his ACL in the team’s first OTA practice. Urlacher retired before last season after he was insulted by a one-year offer to return to the Bears and couldn’t drum up interest from any other team. Urlacher worked last season as an analyst for Fox Sports 1.

Lee was the leader of a beleaguered Cowboys defense the past couple of seasons, but is expected to miss the entire 2014 season.

The Cowboys also also considering veteran Jonathan Vilma, who is a free agent, and could be part of a middle linebacker rotation with Urlacher or another player.
