Smile for the patients: O’s photo-op physicians

***

The only reason President Obama brought 150 supporting doctors together to boost his health-care plan was because he knew that he could never fit the overwhelming number of physicians who reject his takeover of healthcare in the White House (“ObamaCare’s Spin Doctors,” Michelle Malkin, PostOpinion, Oct. 7).

The move was a bad play.

Has anyone considered the possibility that this push for a health- care overhaul is simply a ploy to redistribute more Americans’ wealth? In the name of health care, everyone’s taxes are going to go up.

My gut tells me that the vast amounts of the money Obama says will be earmarked for health care over the next 10 years will end up in the federal government’s general fund.

From there, the money can be used for more pork projects, entitlement programs and political favors and will be siphoned off by the criminals in Washington posing as policymakers. In other words, more “redistribution of wealth.”

This snickering, wet- behind-the-ears organizer specializes in fooling Americans. That’s how he got into the Oval Office, and that’s what he’s doing with this ill-conceived reform.

A recent White House photo op featured 150 doctors from all 50 states in support of health-care reform. We know that many were given lab coats for the photo to look more doctor-ish.

If they came from as far away as Hawaii and California, who paid their expenses? Or is this another subliminal way of portraying doctors as very rich, a group who can easily afford to fly to Washington for the cause?

A close friend of mine who has a good practice recently determined that, again this year, he will be unable to draw a salary and that the practice will just break even. How many legal partnerships are in such straits?

Reading about the sea of white-cloaked doctors reiterates the shameless phoniness of this administration.

Starting during the campaign, when Obama took perennial staged events to obnoxious and frightening levels, this White House has no shame in presenting fiction as fact.

Now, the president invited 150 doctors to the White House in another pathetic attempt to revive the government takeover of health care.

The fact that the White House had them all wear white lab coats indicates that they were carefully selected and proves the dishonesty of it all.

This was not a fair representation of doctors across the United States, a majority of whom do not support Obama’s health-care reforms.

The empty suit posed with empty lab coats to promote the proposed debacle called ObamaCare.

These liberal doctors have a personal stake in socialized health care and have become totally detached from the Hippocratic Oath.

Instead of making a mockery of his administration, Obama would do well to introduce substance in his policies.

If Obama is serious about health-care reform, not to be confused with socialized medicine, then he’ll ask his health-care advisors to introduce reform, not control.

Take on Medicaid and Medicare fraud, along with medical malpractice tort law, and allow Americans to buy insurance across state lines.
