‘Pacific’ overtures by peeping stage manager

A married Lincoln Center stage manager busted for making a spy video of an actress changing had wanted to go out with her even though he had been rebuffed, law-enforcement sources said.

“He was after her for some time,” one source told The Post of Michael Brunner, 54. “He wanted to date her, and she was not interested in him.”

Brunner, who has a daughter in college, allegedly confessed to using his iPod to videotape the actress in her dressing room at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre on Wednesday night.

“He said it was just a stupid mistake on his part and that he was very sorry,” the source said. The actress, whose name is being withheld by The Post, discovered the iPod between acts of the Tony-winning revival of “South Pacific.”

“What the hell is this?” she said when she found the device on a desk, according to a source. She finished her performance and then told theater personnel.

A witness allegedly saw Brunner, of Manahawkin, NJ, leaving the actress’ dressing room.

Brunner was charged with unlawful surveillance and freed without bail.

Lincoln Center declined comment. Brunner did not return a call.
