Judge: Blago allowed on ‘Apprentice’

It looks like ousted Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich won’t be barred from appearing on “Celebrity Apprentice.”

But he’d better watch what he says on the NBC reality show.

It was expected that prosecutors in Chicago would ask a judge today to keep the yappy ex-politico from being a contestant on “Celebrity Apprentice,” which has already begun taping in Manhattan for its March premiere.

Instead, they only asked Blago’s lawyers to agree to limit what he might say on the show, according to the Associated Press.

At a hearing today relating to Blago’s upcoming federal corruption trial, US District Court Judge James B. Zagel said he’s worried that what Blagojevich says on “Apprentice” might cause complications at his upcoming corruption trial, according to the AP report.

This is not the first time that the bushy haired Blago has attempted a reality show career; last summer, he was barred from traveling to Costa Rica to appear on NBC’s “I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!” His wife, Patty, subbed for him at the last minute.

The former governor, a well-known media hound, claims he needs the TV gig to help pay his legal bills.

Reality TV has become something of a forum for accused politicos to try to repair their public images.

Ex-GOP House Majority Leader Tom DeLay–who pled not guilty to violating Texas state campaign finance laws and money laundering–went on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” this season, but was forced to drop out of the show after suffering stress fractures in both feet.
