‘Phil’istines invade NY

Fans started camping out yesterday afternoon for the chance at one of less than 200 World Series tickets that will be sold at Yankee Stadium at 10 a.m. this morning.

And they’d better. Some fans are concerned they will be seeing too much Philly red tonight, as the ballpark becomes overrun with the enemy.

That’s because World Series tickets are selling on the secondary market for $300 less on average in The Bronx than in Philadelphia, according to Stubhub.com.

The average ticket in New York is selling for $698 compared to $977 in Philadelphia, leading ticket broker Don Vaccaro to predict that the stadium will become Phillies country.

The average prices may be higher in Philly, but the top-tier Legends seats at Yankee Stadium have sold for as much as $9,999, compared to $3,500 for the equivalents seats at the Phillies’ Citizens Bank Park.
