No one else is in Lady Gaga’s orbit at Grammys

As we’ve come to expect, Lady Gaga looked not just out of her mind, but out of this world at last night’s Grammy Awards.

The outrageous native New Yorker didn’t disappoint with her first get-up, leading the red-carpet parade in a stellar example of Googie architecture straight out of “The Jetsons” — and designed by none other than Giorgio Armani.

The dress, which looked like a spun sugar confection from outer space, was the first of several outfits Gaga performed in that were custom-made by the legendary designer.

For her opening duet with Elton John, Gaga outblinged the Rocket Man with a green, crystal-encrusted, winged body suit, boots and, yes, matching Benny and the Jets glasses.

It was a curious pairing for an out-there singer — I’m sorry, artist — who uses fashion as performance art, and a designer who built an empire on discreet power dressing. But whatevah.

Armani was the first to understand the power of the red carpet — and the power is Gaga’s now.

Other girls just didn’t stand a chance.

Rihanna came in a pale second with a white Elie Saab haute-couture gown that had a high neck spouting tufts of feathers. She looked like she was being choked by a chicken. Why cover up all those assets?
