ALBANY — The state Senate will decide next week whether to expel or censure disgraced Queens Sen. Hiram Monserrate, the body’s top Democrat said yesterday.
“There will be a resolution one way or the other next week,” said Senate Democratic Conference Leader John Sampson.
Sampson’s statement came in the wake of threats by Senate Republicans to force a vote on Monserrate’s ouster if the Democratic majority fails to follow a bipartisan committee’s recommendation to let the full Senate decide on expulsion or censure.
