VH1 still counts on Bret

VH1 is taking a wait- and-see attitude regarding ailing rocker Bret Michaels’ appearance on its upcoming summer series, “Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp.”

Michaels, 47, suffered a brain hemorrhage last Thursday and remains hospitalized in Arizona. His condition was upgraded from critical to stable yesterday.

While Michaels is starring in the current edition of NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice” — which was taped last fall — he’s also slated to appear on “Fantasy Camp,” a new series premiering July 9 on VH1.

TRUMP TALKS MICHAELS ON ‘TODAY’

On the show, executive-produced by Mark Burnett and David Fishof, everyday people and wannabe musicians mix with bona fide rock stars (Michaels fronted ’80s hair band Poison) and, after a few days, stage a concert with their idols.

Former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley, ex-Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, Lita Ford, Lemmy Kilmister (Motorhead) and others will be featured on the show.

Michaels is scheduled to appear on the show’s finale in August — and VH1 officials are taking a “cross that bridge when we come to it” approach regarding how they would treat his appearance should his health take a downward turn.

“We would make that decision if the circumstances warranted it,” a network spokeswoman said yesterday.
