Teacher’s pet peeve

Tom Buxton (pictured), a 39-year veteran teacher at McKinley JHS in Brooklyn, was shocked to learn that test scores at his school have plummeted.

“I don’t know what the answer is except that teachers, parents, administrators and even students have to find a better way of working together,” he said.

Buxton said city schools devote too much energy to exam preparation. “Preparing for tests is not what education is all about” he said.
