Breaking up is hard to do — but it shouldn’t be this hard!

Nearly 60 percent of Americans say that the Internet is making it impossible to truly get over their exes because old flames are always just a mouse-click away, according to a new poll.

The survey, by relationship site YourTango.com found that 59 percent of people have stayed Facebook friends with their exes after a breakup and 74 percent have Googled their past lovers.

“We’re seeing this pattern where it’s so much easier to reconnect with an ex, where in the past, they were out of sight, out of mind,” YourTango’s CEO, Andrea Miller, said.

The poll also found that 50 percent of people have called, texted or IM’ed with a former love — and one-third have actually had sex after looking them up online.
