Gov’s housing czar

ALBANY — Gov. Cuomo yesterday chose Assemblyman Darryl Towns (D-Brooklyn) to be the state’s top housing official.

The 10-term assemblyman chairs the Standing Committee on Banks, where he has championed legislation to aid homeowners coping with foreclosure.

He also recently led the Assembly’s Black, Latino and Asian State Caucus.
