Puppy predators

Three thieves raided an Avenue N home on Feb. 1, taking cash, cellphones, electronics — and a small puppy.

Residents inside the Midwood home said the thieves knocked on their door at 11 pm. When one of the victims answered, the thieves forced their way inside, holding five people at bay as they looted the place, scooping up the $1,500 puppy before leaving.

Child’s play

An 18-year-old Quentin Road woman was arrested on Feb. 3 after she held a knife to her mother’s throat while keeping the woman locked in her bedroom.

The 45-year-old victim was held hostage for three hours before her unhinged daughter made off with her earrings and rings — only to be arrested a short time later.

Skylight entry

Thieves broke into the Deep Mountain liquor store on Kings Highway on Feb. 5 after forcing open a rooftop skylight.

Workers at the store, which is between McDonald Avenue and E. 2nd Street, said the thief lowered himself into a vacant stairwell at 5:50 am and then kicked a hole into the store, where $3,520 was removed from the register.

Not so charitable

A thief swiped two charity boxes from David’s Health Foods on Avenue U on Feb. 4.

Workers at the store, which is between E. 22nd and E. 23rd streets, said the goon entered at 10:18 am, palmed the boxes and ran off before anyone noticed what was going on.

A thief tried to swipe a surveillance camera fixed outside an Ocean Parkway apartment building on Feb. 4 — but didn’t realize that he was going to be recorded while doing it.

Police arrested the 57-year-old suspect shortly after the 12:07 am theft, which happened between Quentin Road and Kings Highway, and was streaming to the victim’s computer in real time.

Cold feet

Two thugs jumped an 18-year-old on Ocean Avenue on Jan. 27, taking his sneakers, iPhone and coat.

The victim sustained cuts to his face, arms and torso as he tried to fight off the suspects near Kings Highway — one of which was armed with a box cutter.

Henry’s hooligans

A crew of thieves broke into Henry’s Deli on Avenue S on Jan. 28 and cleaned the place out of cash, cigarettes and New York Lottery scratch-offs.

Workers said they closed the eatery, which is between E. 29th Street and Nostrand Avenue, at 6:15 pm. Within the next 12 hours someone forced open a rear window, snuck in, and made off with the loot.

Mirror menace

A thief swiped the side view mirrors off a 2003 Mercedes Benz sitting parked on E. Third Street on Jan. 29.

The 33-year-old owner of the car left it parked between Avenue P and Quentin Road at 4 pm. The mirrors were discovered missing when the owner returned to the car by 11:50 am the next day.

Tragic death

A newborn died moments after being born inside a Coney Island apartment on Feb. 7 — and the baby’s 14-year-old mother could be to blame.

Police said the teen, a resident of W. 31st Street between Mermaid and Surf avenues, was rushed to Coney Island Hospital at 5:50 am for bleeding, but doctors soon learned she had just given birth.

Cops were dispatched to the teen’s home, where they found a dead newborn discarded in the trash.

It remained unclear how the baby died by late Tuesday.

iPad swipe

A thug ran off with a woman’s iPad on Jan. 26 after he saw her tinkering with the computer tablet on a D train rumbling through Bensonhurst.

The victim got off the train at the 18th Avenue station at 85th Street at 1:10 am and was walking down New Utrecht Avenue when the thief grabbed the bag containing the pricey computer.

“Give me the iPad or I will stab you,” the thief said before swiping the bag and running off down New Utrecht Avenue.

Mugged on New Utrecht

A Traffic Enforcement Agent was beaten and mugged as he headed to work on New Utrecht Avenue and 77th Street on Jan. 26.

Shot in the neck

The bullet pierced his neck, leaving a minor injury, police said.

11-year-old hit

A wayward motorist struck an 11-year-old boy on Knapp Street on Feb. 3 — then kept on going.

Witnesses said that the child was between Avenues W and X at 3:15 pm when the light blue Mercedes Benz struck him.

The injured child tried to follow the luxury car as it made its escape, but soon gave up the chase and flag an approaching police van.

Cops took the child to Coney Island Hospital for treatment.

Keg kiter

Tre take

A thief broke into the Tre Fratelli Deli on Avenue Z on Feb. 3, taking $3,500.

Workers at the eatery, which is between E. 23rd and E. 24th streets, said that they closed for the night at 7 pm. Over the night someone forced a back window and rifled through the cash register and two boxes.

Headphone grab

A quick-moving thug ripped a pair of pricey headphones from a 16-year-old’s head during an confrontation on Gravesend Neck Road.

The victim was nearing E. 22nd Street just before 10 am when the thief ran up behind him and plucked the $200 headphones off his head.

When the victim balked, the thief reached into his pocket as if he had a gun and screamed, “Do you want to get shot?”
