Flatlands building handyman stabbed to death

Building super killed

A violent thug knifed a building superintendent to death on Feb. 4 during an exchange in the E. 51st Street address.

Witnesses said that the suspect — who remains at large — attacked Shayne Sinclair inside the building, which is between Avenues K and L, at 8:32 pm, stabbing him in the chest.

Responding paramedics rushed Sinclair to Brookdale Hospital, where he died of his injury.

By late Tuesday, there were conflicting reports as two what Sinclair was doing before the attack. One report has Sinclair going to an apartment to retrieve some tools he had left there. Another said he was collecting rent money from tenants.

Cops are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward. Calls can be made to the NYPD CrimeStoppers hotline at (800) 577-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.

Bus attack

An unhinged teenage straphanger attacked a city bus driver on the corner of Avenue U and Ryder Street on Feb. 3 when he was told that he couldn’t get on the bus.

The bus driver told police that the 16-year-old tried to get on the bus without paying at 5:10 pm, but the bus driver stopped him.

Enraged, the teen punched the driver in the head and ran off — only to be charged with assault a short time later.

Mugger bust

Two thugs mugged a 44-year-old on Ralph Avenue on Jan. 27, but didn’t get away with their crime.

Police nabbed the two suspects shortly after the 11:50 pm theft near Foster Avenue, where they took $50 from their victim.

Shovel shenanigans

A 30-year-old man was arrested on Jan. 27 after he clobbered a “friend” with a shovel.

The victim said that he and his pal were digging themselves out of the most recent snowfall on E. 70th Street at 11 am when they had a spat. The suspect lunged at the 32-year-old victim with the shovel and left him with a small injury.

Food fiend

Two goons broke into a Strickland Avenue Chinese restaurant on Jan. 29, but arrest-hungry cops busted one of them a short time later.

Workers at the eatery, located near E. 65th Street, spotted the thieves inside the store just before 8 am, rifling through the cash register. They apparently entered the restaurant by forcing the back door, cops were told.

Cops nabbed one of the thieves a few days later, charging him with burglary and criminal mischief.

Hot wheels

A thief swiped four tires from a brand new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro parked on Bergen Avenue on Jan. 23.

The owner of the car told police that the vehicle had been sitting parked near Avenue T since 4 pm.

Rapist recant

A Christian nun who claimed that a hulking brute raped her on Jan. 22 has recanted her story, claiming that she made the whole thing up.

The victim, who is connected to the Apostles of Infinite Love convent in East Flatbush, told investigators that she was walking along Glenwood Road near E. 40th Street when a 6-foot-4-inch thug grabbed and choked her until she blacked out, then sexually assaulted her.

She was taken to a local hospital where she was treated — and made her statement to police.

Yet, after police drew up a sketch of the suspect and began their search, the woman admitted the truth — she made the rape story up to cover the fact that she had consensual sex, in the street, no less, with a local bodega owner.

Cops did not charge the woman with making a false report.

Sidekick swipe

A sticky-fingered student snagged a T-Mobile Sidekick cellphone from a classmate’s locker inside Marine Park Junior High School on Jan. 28.

The 14-year-old victim left the phone inside her locker at the Stuart Street school at 10:21 am, but found it gone when she returned to get it an hour later.
