Mike hits whining motorists

Motorists grumbling about the double winter whammy of potholes and parking tickets didn’t get much sympathy yesterday from Mayor Bloomberg.

Bloomberg said it takes crews an average of 3½ days to respond to a complaint about a pothole and then fill it, which he viewed as “doing a very good job” considering how wrathful Mother Nature has been this season.

“I’m sure that’s cold comfort to drivers in our area,” said AAA spokesman Robert Sinclair.

Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz started a hot line yesterday for motorists to report potholes in his borough.

The mayor defended a ticket blitz Monday that produced more than $500,000 in alternate-side summonses, saying the city needed the cash.

“The issue is, we didn’t have the revenue for the last 20 days when alternate side wasn’t there” because of snowy streets, he said.
