In an effort to distance herself from Mayor Bloomberg, City Council Speaker Christine Quinn yesterday criticized his plan to cut capital spending and announced her own ideas on everything from small business to long-term budget savings.
A proposed 20 percent capital-spending cut “comes with serious consequences and I simply cannot support it,” Quinn said in her State of the City Speech at the CUNY Graduate Center.
Quinn, a likely 2013 Democratic mayoral hopeful, also zinged the administration for over-regulating small businesses and overspending on questionable contracts.
