Cabby’s a real gem of a guy

A humble and honest cabby turned down a ritzy dinner in his honor last night after returning a bag containing $75,000 worth of jewelry that he found in his taxi.

Zubiru Jalloh, 42, of Crown Heights, Brooklyn, discovered the white bag in the back of his cab Sunday.

It held the jewelry, photos and $229 that belonged to John James, brother of National Arts Club chief Aldon James, taxi officials said yesterday.

“I said, ‘Sir, this property does not belong to me, and it is my duty to return it,’ ” Jalloh (right) recalled telling John James.

Jalloh at first declined James’ offer of a $1,000 reward, but eventually relented at James’ insistence.

But — citing his Muslim faith — he passed on attending a dinner last night in his honor at the National Arts Club, because alcohol would be served.
