Grammy reporter’s nightmare

A Los Angeles TV reporter launched into a scary, nonsensical on-air ramble that ended with a call to paramedics.

Serene Branson looked just fine Sunday night before going live from the Staples Center, site of the Grammys, for KCBS TV.

But she broke into gibberish during her report and wound up driven home once the paramedics had examined her.

“Her vital signs were normal,” KCBS said yesterday. “She is feeling fine this morning.”

Not so her co-workers.

” ‘Shocked’ is an appropriate adjective,” anchor Paul Magers said. “She’s a great reporter, the consummate professional.”

Doctors who watched a tape of the episode but had not treated Branson told The Post that she probably suffered aphasia, which impacts the ability to articulate, and that it could have been brought on by a ministroke, a tumor or a circulatory issue.
