Sought-after UWS penthouse snagged for $16M

It’s been quite a week for the Alexander boys, Douglas Elliman broker brothers Tal and Oren, of the Alexander Team.

They also sold the penthouse, PH3B, at 150 Columbus Avenue for $16 million — a record in the building. The unit had been on the market for 158 days, and went into contract eight days after it had been listed exclusively with the Alexanders and Jamie Safier, also of Douglas Elliman, for $16.5 million.

Its original asking price last year, with another broker, was $29 million.

Michael Strahan had looked at the unit last year, when it was asking a “reduced” $25 million but he passed — even though it is across the street from his ABC gig, “Live! With Kelly and Michael.” (He’s now in talks with “Good Morning America.”)

The unit was purchased by a Middle Eastern family that already owns in the building. Other boldface names in the building include MTV founder Bob Pittman, Eagles bassist Timothy B. Schmit and sportscaster Marv Albert.

The five-bedroom, 6½-bathroom duplex is 5,500 square feet and boasts a 1,100-square-foot terrace. It includes a formal dining room, a sculptural staircase and a wall of glass.
