Psych workers scared after two employees stabbed by patient

Frightened workers in Kings County Hospital are demanding an airport-style metal detector in its psychiatric ward after a crazed patient smuggled in a knife and stabbed two employees.

Sources said the patient, Ronald Byrd, 55, hid the knife in his rectum. It was not detected when he was admitted April 17.

“Miraculously, no one was killed,” said one hospital source. “Luckily he missed the jugular veins, but did stab both BHAs [behavior health associates] in the face.”
