Louis C.K. buys Babe Ruth’s summer Hamptons home

Lucky Louie lands the house that Ruth built

It looks like Louis C.K. wants another shot at the East End. The sad-sack funnyman (who recently did an episode where he spectacularly bombs in a black-tie show out in the Hamptons that features a crusty, mean-spirited Jerry Seinfeld) just bought a charming summer “cottage” for $2.49 million. It’s a beach house that Babe Ruth once summered at. The home is known as Primrose Cottage, our spies say. The three-story Tudor-style home, built in 1901, is 4,957 square feet. It comes with six bedrooms, 3½ bathrooms and five fireplaces. It’s on 2 acres, with plenty of room for tennis courts and a pool.

C.K. was on Shelter Island this weekend with his boat. Our spies say he is excited about renovating the house.

Shrewd and shelter

The very stylish Shelter Island home of Jonathan Adler, the pottery designer with his own lifestyle brand and boutiques, and his partner, Simon Doonan, the writer/author and Barneys New York creative ambassador, can be yours to rent for $11,000 a month.

The mid-century, A-frame, three-bedroom, two-bathroom hous e is, according to the listing, steps from the beach. The 1,299-square-foot home’s interiors have been coated with “high-gloss marine deck paint that reflects sunlight throughout the airy, angular space.”

The living room has cathedral ceilings, a woodburning fireplace and a glass wall overlooking the veranda — decked out as an outdoor living room with built-in benches and lounge areas. There’s also a ping-pong deck, a guest bedroom and 75-foot heated pool. The listing broker is Penelope Moore, of Saunders & Associates.

This top model has style and sense. Jon Kortajarena Redruello, a Spanish model and actor who works for top fashion lines including Just Cavalli, Versace, Giorgio Armani and Tom Ford, just bought a West Village studio that was asking $799,000 (in cash). The 457-square-foot condo, on Perry Street, comes with a woodburning fireplace, along with a marble bathroom with a Jacuzzi.

The building also has a roof deck. The listing broker was Halstead’s Dan Danielli.

We hear…

That Douglas Elliman broker Fredrik Eklund, of Bravo’s “Million Dollar Listing New York,” and lifestyle expert Bruce Littlefield have just signed a six-figure deal to pen a book revealing the tricks used to convince people “to love you, listen to you and buy whatever you are selling.” The book is to be published by a division of Penguin.
