Cop sued in ‘test swipe’

Two former NYPD officials are accusing a current captain of stealing documents and clients from their police-test prep company, according to a multimillion-dollar lawsuit filed in Nassau County.

The owners of Fast Track, the prep service for the department’s sergeant, captain and lieutenant exams, filed the suit against their former business partner and his Elite Training test-prep company.

Retired NYPD Deputy Inspector Albert Becker and retired Capt. Steven Zolga claim that current Capt. Mike Yanosik, 43, of Smithtown, stole their business model and materials when he ditched their firm in November 2011, the suit says.

The duo also accuses Yanosik of poaching their former NYPD clients and appropriating their manual — known as the “Total Guide” — according to the suit.

The materials provide summaries of the “often-times confusing and seemingly contradictory policies and practices of the NYPD,” the suit notes.

The manual provides test-takers with mnemonic devices to remember complex policies, said Fast Track attorney Charles Horn.

About 3,000 customers pay $800 for a prep class each year, Horn said.

Yanosik’s lawyer, Steven Silberling, denied the claims.
