George Zimmerman could be looking to add to his gun collection.
Zimmerman, acquitted in the Trayvon Martin trial last month, went shopping for a shotgun Thursday at a gun manufacturer in Cocoa, Fla., according to TMZ. Zimmerman visited Kel-Tec – the company that makes the PF-9 gun he used to shoot Martin – with his lawyer, Mark O’Mara, and the two were asking questions regarding the legality of acquiring a Kel-Tec KSG.
That particular firearm is a tactical shotgun described on Kel-Tec’s website as “compact as legally possible” with the ability to hold “an impressive” 12 rounds. The site lists the price at $1,197.
It’s unclear whether or not Zimmerman bought the weapon, which is often used in home defense, but TMZ reports the owner’s son took Zimmerman and O’Mara on a tour of the grounds, including the area where guns are assembled.
In July, a six-woman jury acquitted Zimmerman on a second-degree murder charge in the death of Martin. He was given back the gun that killed the 17-year-old.
