You gotta ‘Believe’ when Bo raises the roof on NBC

This is what happens when you “Believe” in New York City.

This first-look image from Sunday’s episode of the NBC drama features the extraordinary powers of series protagonist Bo (Johnny Sequoyah) on full display as she levitates a Manhattan taxicab. “Believe,” which premiered March 10, revolves around Bo — a young girl born with abilities she can’t explain or control — and her minder, William Tate (Jake McLaughlin), who was sprung from death row by the shadowy Milton Winter (Delroy Lindo) to become Bo’s guardian.

Winter’s main goal is keeping Bo and Tate safe. (Bo is the only person with powers whom he’s protecting.)

But Winter’s ex-partner, scientist/businessman Roman Skouras (Kyle MacLachlan), is evil, and he’s also after Bo, for malevent reasons that are still unclear.

In Sunday’s episode, “Defection” (9 p.m./Ch. 4), Bo and Tate evade a manhunt so that Tate can help Bo find the writer of a long-lost love letter.

Meanwhile, Winter prepares to escape from Manhattan and Skouras and Agent Ferrell (Trieste Kelly Dunn) increase their efforts to take Tate and Bo into custody.

The series co-stars Jamie Chung and is executive-produced by JJ Abrams (“Lost,” “Person of Interest,” “Fringe”).
