Tony Soprano’s wardrobe up for auction

It’s an auction no “Sopranos” fan can refuse!

Clothing worn by the late James Gandolfini goes under the hammer Wednesday, offering aficionados the chance to dress like TV mobster Tony Soprano.

Gandolfini’s sad, untimely passing has spiked interest in his “Sopranos” work, according to auctioneer Pete Siegel.

“It adds a lot,” said Siegel, co-founder of New York-based online auction house GottaHaveIt.com.

“It wouldn’t be the same if he had died, let’s say, 20 years ago. People still remember him and remember vividly.”

The “Sopranos” star was 51 when he died of a heart attack in Rome on June 19.

His “Sopranos” gear in the online auction include:

  • Tony’s black and white Fila track suit, a classic piece of mob garb that he donned in Season 6. It is expected to fetch at least $1,500.
  • A white terry-cloth robe with The Plaza hotel logo and matching blue bath slippers that Gandolfini o wore in Season 5. A minimum bid of $1,500 has been set.
  • A black cashmere coat and gray dress shirt he wore in Season 4 that are expected to draw at least $1,200.
  • Three casual, Tony-worn shirts, which are set to go for at least $400 each.
  • A green tie, with a falling leaf pattern, that Gandolfini wore in Season 4. It has a minimum bid of $100.

The clothes come from a private collector who bought them from Gandolfini in 2012, according to Siegel.

Each lot also comes with a picture of Gandolfini sporting those threads on the show.

The auction will runs through Sept. 27.

The sale includes other props from recent TV history, such as the dress Taylor Swift wore when she performed “Mean” at the 2012 Grammy Awards.

“I’m not an in-the-moment person, I prefer [older] things like Elvis and Michael Jackson,” Siegel said. “But it’s what the masses want …

If you were with your girlfriend, sister, brother or mother watching the Grammys last year, you’d remember Taylor Swift’s performance.”
