Easy to see Rivera’s Bronx finale on the cheap

If you’re interested in seeing Mariano Rivera’s final game at Yankee Stadium, it will be neither difficult nor expensive.

According to TiqIQ.com — a website that serves as an aggregate of online ticketing — prices for Thursday’s Yankees-Rays game (almost certainly the Yankees’ final home game of the season) have plummeted. As of Wednesday morning, the average cost per ticket was $149.96, with the cheapest seat only $39.

There were more than 6,500 tickets available.

The Yankees were eliminated from the playoff race after Wednesday night’s 8-3 loss to the Rays at the Stadium.

Thus, Thursday’s game is meaningless.

Nevertheless, it’s possible Rivera pitches Thursday night, which would represent the final game in pinstripes for the retiring legend, who will finish the season and his career with three games in Houston.

Per TiqIQ.com, the highest-ever ticket average for Thursday’s game was $238.14 on Sept. 8, meaning the cost had dropped more than 37 percent. Since Tuesday, the cost has dropped almost 24 percent, down from $197.22.
