Bikers busted during vigil for SUV terror rider

A planned show of support for a biker who was severely injured in a wild chase on the West Side Highway was a bust Wednesday night, as only 10 cyclists showed up.

The crew was planning to assemble 100 bikers in East New York and ride all the way to St Luke’s Hospital where Edwin Mieses, 32, is in a medically-induced coma.

But police vans, flatbed trucks, and motorcycles were waiting for the gang to show up. About two dozen rode to the meeting area, but some had gotten texts that the cops were waiting and only 10 actually stopped.

“We’re just out here to show support to the kid that got hurt,” said Jerry Howard, a 7th grade math teacher from Brooklyn.

“We do not condone what happened on Sunday. But we do want to support safe and legal rides. We’re not all bad.”

There was no violence, though a number of bikers who stopped received tickets for minor infractions and one even had his vehicle confiscated.

“I had no license light and the cop told me he was gonna confiscate my bike. I asked him for a courtesy as I am in the military and he didn’t wanna give it,” said Army specialist Grigoriy Nisinbaum.

Mieses was run over by Alexian Lien after his gang of biker thugs surrounded Lien’s Range Rover.
