Ex-con busted in Midtown burglary spree

A thirsty ex-con was nabbed for a string of burglaries around Midtown — where his haul included a can of Coke and some waters he chugged during one heist, cops said.

Just a week after Gerald Rapier, 44, left the slammer in Dec. 2012 he burglarized a commercial building on Lexington Ave. and downed the beverages while he ransacked the joint, police sources said.

The same day he ransacked a Madison Ave. office but walked away empty handed, the sources said.

Rapier has been connected to at least 13 Midtown office burglaries and racked up a haul that included at least 35 Macbook Pros, other laptops, cash and cell phones valued at least $65,000, according to police. His largest heist was from a Park Avenue office where he stole 12 Macbook Pros, a Samsung Galaxy, and other items valued over $26,400 Oct. 18, cops said.

Rapier did a six-year stint for a spate of burglaries dating back to 2004, wasted no time and jumped back into old habits.

He has been charged with burglary, cops said.
