Model falls flat on her backside at Lela Rose show

Towering heels were too dangerous for one model at the Lela Rose show on Sunday.

During the final march of the models, a mannequin wearing an arresting floor-length magenta gown with a short train tripped and fell flat on her backside. Another catwalker came to her aid and pulled her up, and the faltering beauty finished strong as if nothing had happened.

The model was wearing a pair of 5-inch stilettos similar to these, designed by Jerome Rousseau.Instagram

It was an unfortunate distraction to an otherwise sophisticated collection influenced by Spanish El Bulli chef Ferran Adriá.

The line “centers around the geometry, natural beauty and the magical adventure that a meal can be,” Rose said in her show notes.

But the heels worn by her models were a bitter course in her banquet. Designed by Jerome Rousseau and featuring a finlike detail, the approximately 5-inch stilettos were a challenge for any experienced strutter.

Last September another model tripped in her heels at the Lela Rose show, but — like a trooper — she kicked them both off and walked down the runway barefoot, shoes in hand.
