Buckingham guard draws bayonet-fixed rifle on ‘combative’ visitor

A Buckingham Palace guard — dressed in a traditional red uniform and tall bearskin hat — left his post and drew his bayonet-fixed rifle on a combative visitor, according to authorities and published reports on Sunday.

A man had been screaming at cops for about five minutes, demanding access to the palace, before the ceremonial guard grabbed his weapon and rushed to intervene early Friday evening, witnesses said.
