Two hurt in Queens crash

Two people were seriously injured in a car accident in Queens Friday night, authorities said.

The car was driving along Brookville Boulevard and 149th Street in Queens Village when it slid off the road and flipped at about 10:20 p.m.

“Some of those roads out there are still in rough shape,” an FDNY source said of the accident. “If the slush and rain refreezes at night, these types of accidents can happen. It’s all black ice at that point.”

Both victims were taken to Jamaica hospital, one in serious condition, and the other in critical condition with life threatening injuries.

According to authorities, the victim in critical condition was pinned underneath the car when the fire department arrived and had to be extricated.

“Just because visibility is better, doesn’t always mean the roads are,” the fire source said of the accident.
